Preset, Source, And Operating-State Management

A preset is a complete operating state—not an EQ label.

It may change source, routing, coefficients, filters, delay, level, polarity, dynamics, limiter, mute, output, amplifier state, user controls, calls, alerts, and what returns after sleep or interruption.

Preset State Record

LayerRecord
Sourceinput, app, phone, projection, transport, normalization, source volume, call and prompt paths
DSPmatrix, summing coefficients, filters, delay, polarity, EQ, dynamics, limiter, mute, slew, output trim
Analog outputDAC or line-output level, amplifier gain, load, speaker protection, channel identity
User controlmaster volume, bass, sub, balance, fader, loudness, preset selector, restricted controls
Vehicle stateaccessory, run, crank, stop-start, call, alert, disconnect, reconnect, sleep, wake, fault

Transition Testing

Test both the destination state and the path into and out of it:

state A steady
→ request state B
→ mute / slew / route transition
→ state B steady
→ interruption or failure
→ restored state and level

Capture source level, DSP meter points, analog output, mute, remote output, and audible transient on a common time base when possible.

Stored And Live Values

Separate:

A preset name on the screen does not prove that every live value matches the approved state.
