Competition SPL metering platform commonly used in dB Drag and related lanes. Useful as a measurement tool, but the test setup, placement, bandwidth, and competition rules still determine what the number means. See also: SPL, competition measurement.
Chapter 13.1

THD (Total Harmonic Distortion)
Distortion caused by harmonic components added to the original signal. THD by itself is incomplete unless the test level, frequency, bandwidth, and method are known. See also: THD+N, clipping, measurement standard.

THD+N
Total harmonic distortion plus noise under a stated test condition. It is often a more practical published metric than THD alone, but it is only comparable when weighting, bandwidth, signal level, and procedure match. See also: THD, dynamic range, SNR.

Thiele-Small Parameters
Set of measurements describing a driver's electromechanical behavior, including Fs, Qts, Vas, Re, Sd, and excursion-related limits. They are foundational for enclosure design, but they do not replace real-world thermal, excursion, and vehicle-environment validation. See also: Fs, Qts, Vas.

Time Alignment
Delay adjustment used to compensate for different speaker-to-listener path lengths. It is a timing tool, not a substitute for phase verification, crossover design, or polar behavior. See also: latency, phase, imaging.

True Peak (dBTP)
Peak level of the reconstructed waveform rather than the highest stored sample. True peak matters because a signal can stay below 0 dBFS sample-peak and still overshoot after interpolation, resampling, or encoding. See also: dBFS, headroom, LUFS.
