L
LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate)
Battery chemistry for car audio. Advantages: 1/3 weight of AGM, flat discharge curve (13.2V until depleted), 2000+ cycle life. Disadvantages: requires BMS, expensive ($400-800), cannot charge below freezing. → See also: AGM, BMS
Chapter 11.2
Linkwitz-Riley (LR4)
4th-order (24 dB/octave) crossover filter. Both HPF and LPF are -6 dB at crossover frequency. Sum = flat response. Phase: both drivers in phase at crossover (unlike Butterworth). Industry standard for active crossovers. → See also: Butterworth, Crossover
Chapter 12.3
LOC (Line Output Converter)
Converts amplified speaker-level signal to line-level RCA. Used when tapping factory amplified system. Simple LOCs: resistor network. Better LOCs: adjustable gain, signal summing, bass restoration. → See also: High-Level Input
