LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate)
Battery chemistry used in high-performance electrical systems because it is light, holds voltage better under load, and has long cycle life. The tradeoff is stricter charging, temperature, and BMS requirements than older lead-acid approaches. See also: AGM, BMS.
Chapter 11.2

Latency
Delay between input and output. Good latency reporting breaks the total into transport latency, buffering latency, and processing latency instead of quoting one vague number. See also: time alignment, FIR, AES67.
Chapter 12.5

Limiter
Dynamic control stage that prevents signal or excursion from exceeding a threshold. A limiter can protect drivers and digital headroom, but it can also hide poor gain structure if it is doing too much of the work. See also: headroom, clipping, true peak.

Linkwitz-Riley (LR4)
Filter alignment commonly used for active crossovers. A 4th-order Linkwitz-Riley crossover is made from cascaded Butterworth sections and is chosen because the acoustic sum can be flat at the crossover point when the drivers are aligned correctly. See also: Butterworth, crossover, acoustic slope.

LOC (Line Output Converter)
Converts speaker-level signal to line-level output so an aftermarket processor or amplifier can be fed from a factory source. Better units handle gain, summing, turn-on logic, and factory EQ behavior more gracefully than passive adapters. See also: high-level input.

LUFS (Loudness Units Relative to Full Scale)
Perceptual loudness measure standardized for program loudness reporting. LUFS is not just RMS with a new name; it includes weighting and gating so it tracks perceived loudness more reliably. See also: LKFS, true peak, loudness normalization.
